Culture Flipper is looking for English terminologists

Working with international writers, your role will be to help the team produce English final transcreation from non-English languages by gathering, selecting, and connecting the accurate terminology needed and will include the following responsibilities:

  • Verify transcriptions of proper nouns and keywords are accurate and consistent (names of people and places, and media titles) before work is submitted to the client
  • Confirm English transcriptions of non-English loanwords and share correct usage based on phonetic analysis
  • Manage a glossary of terms derived from the transcreation process -- collect, categorize, and provide definitions and examples of usage. Arrange by client, category of work, and subject matter

You must have the following:

  • Minimum of three years professional experience as a language service provider
  • Proficiency in English writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Accurately grasp the use of various terms and categorize parent-child relationship between concepts
  • Understand the importance of consistent and systematic glossary management during the entire translation process
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate efficiently with related departments and global clients in an online collaborative work environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Interest and academic experience in related fields is a huge plus (e.g. Library and Information science, Linguistics, Humanities, Database Management)
